Mental Health and Wellbeing

 

Queen's Crescent is committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of pupils, parents and staff.  To achieve this, we offer a wide range of support, and signposting to other agencies and organisations.  

ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support) 

Mrs Kibble is trained to deliver ELSA sessions to children requiring emotional support.

SAND TRAY SESSIONS  

Mrs Kibble, Mrs Paterson and Miss Wicks support children in expressing their feelings and worries through sand tray based play and activities. 

LEGO SESSIONS 

Mrs Gawke is trained to deliver sessions to help pupils discuss their emotions. 

 MHST (Mental Health Support Team) 

MHST's have three core functions: 

  • To deliver evidence based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues
  • Support the senior mental health lead (Mrs Lobb) in school to develop the whole school approach 
  • Give timely advice and liaise with external specialist services to help children get the right support and stay in education
